I have worked at the Royal Mint since 2009 and was appointed Business Manager of the Currency and Precious Metal Recovery divisions in 2023. I am responsible for the delivery of all the contract and service deliverables in the UK Circulating Coin and Services Contract with His Majesty’s Treasury. I work closely with the Business Development teams in the Precious Metal Recovery division to ensure delivery of a premium account management service to both existing and new customers to improve The Royal Mint’s competitive position.
Dieter Merkle has been with Andritz Schuler Presses since 1975. Currently, he serves as the Director of Global Minting at the Andritz Schuler Group. He has been a board member of Schuler India since 2004 and has held again the position of Chairman since January 2020. Dieter has been an active member of the Mint Directors Association (MDA) Technical Committee and has served as the convenor and chair of the Technical Forum at the World Money Fair since 2004. In 2016, he became the convenor of a Customer Task Force aimed at raising industry awareness and connecting with the customer base. This task force was transferred to the International Mint Industry Association (IMIA) in April 2024. Since 2017, Dieter has represented Andritz Schuler within the International Currency Association, and he has been a board member since May 2017.

I have been a member of the mint industry for almost 15 years, having spent 12+ years working as the EGM of Sales, Marketing and Innovation at the Royal Australian Mint. I am now the Executive Director of the Mint Directors Association, working closely with the Board of Directors to build a membership organization to enable industry participants to share knowledge, good practice and case studies for the benefit of all members.
Ben Flint is the founder of Supernormal Systems, a specialist consultancy that designs websites and digital systems for professional services firms across finance, advisory, search, and other high-trust sectors. A fluent Mandarin speaker and a regular judge for innovation awards, specifically Australia's Pause Awards.
